Jessica Riggin to be on the Panel of “Girls in Tech x Gainsight: Know your Legal Rights in the Workplace”

The #MeToo movement has put workplace sexual harassment in the spotlight, with numerous high-profile sexual harassment and assault allegations against powerful leaders in multiple industries. #Metoo has helped shed light on, and create a public conversation surrounding workplace issues that often go unreported. As more and more people step forward to share their stories, and with an increased focus on accountability, these problems can no longer remain unaddressed. This increased focus on workplace harassment also raises legal and practical considerations for companies in preventing and responding to sexual harassment claims. Join Girls in Tech and a panel of plaintiffs side and management side employment law attorneys for a discussion of the #metoo movement and its impact on the workplace.

Attendees will learn about their rights in the workplace (What should I do if I’ve been sexually harassed? When does sexual harassment become illegal?), while employers and HR professionals will gain a better understanding of how to comply with some of their primary responsibilities under California employment law (What should employers do to foster a harassment-free environment? What are the requirements of a fair investigation? When should I fire an accused harasser?).

Come join Girls in Tech to get your questions around workplace rights answered, while networking and enjoying good food and drink. We look forward to seeing you there!
